God Have Mercy

I originally posted this on Facebook, and decided to add it here as well...

Driving home from Bend last night, I ran into a snowstorm on the east side of Mt. Hood. It was dark, and the snow was coming down like crazy. The road was covered, so all I had to guide me was the reflectors on the side of the road. To top it all off, I was driving a company car, so there's the added stress of "don't wreck the company car!" I called Ginger to let her know, and to have her pray for me. I turned the music down low, and focused on staying on the road, praying just to get through it in one piece. As I plowed ahead while praying, I became aware of the song that was playing - Mister Mister's "Kyrie Eleison", which translated from the Latin means "God Have Mercy". The words to the chorus?

"Kyrie Eleison down the road that I must travel.
Kyrie Eleison through the darkness of the night.
Kyrie Eleison where I'm going will you follow?
Kyrie Eleison on a highway in the night".

Who says God doesn't have a sense of humor?

Soon the snow turned back into rain, and the lights of Government Camp came into view. I breathed a sign of relief, thanked God for getting through the mini-blizzard, and headed for home.
